Windows Biometric Framework Facial Authentications Support

I am trying to create a Windows service application that might need to verify if current user in front of the PC is the actual user. and to do this silently, Facial authentication will be perfect. anyway I can do this using WBF? knowing that I can't find any code for this except using fingerprint authentications?

Hi, AlmohannedHarfoush. Welcome to Microsoft Q&A. Could you clarify your actual needs? Are you a program invoked by an upper layer or a service provider? Have you considered using Windows Hello for authentication? Here are some documents you can refer to.

What we need to do here is very similar to Windows Hello Login Service example you have shared. However, its important to for us not to have interactive user login. we need to silently verify user identity. and for that facial authentication using Windows Hello is a must.

1.Create a Windows Hello login service

can we force it always to use FACE instead of PIN ?

2.Create client applications

when we use any Service Provider instead of WINBIO_TYPE_FINGERPRINT to open the session, the method WinBioLocateSensor will fail. in the WinBioOpenSession documentation, it was stated that only WINBIO_TYPE_FINGERPRINT is supported now. if that is not correct please help me to use it.

we need to silently verify user identity

You mean that there is no prompt, when you open the app or during the use of the app, the system automatically obtains the current user's face information for relevant authentication. Is this what you mean? This is how I understand it, there may be deviations, please correct me.

We don't mind having the windows hello UI to pop-up while authentication. and we don't intend to hide this action from user. but we also don't want to interrupt execution flow waiting for user action. for example, if user is making a voice call using our system. and he is pretending to be the genuine user. we need to re-authenticate user to make the call. but we don't want user to take any action to complete it.

Sorry to keep you waiting for so long, I reported your question to the developers of WBF on July 25th, but there is no reply yet, I will contact the WBF engineers again and get back to you as soon as possible.
