My windows update has been failed for a few months, it seems it started from the .net framework update failed with error code "0X80071AB1" and it stuck all the time.
All the windows update afterwards (regarding .net framework or not) can not be completed.

My window version is Window 11, and I have been looking at a lot solutions online but no one worked for me.

Can anyone please help? Many Thanks.

I wanted to respond to this because I too had this issue. I searched through numerous articles and could not find a solution. Nothing on this page worked and also nothing I found worked. I noticed this happened on a machine that was way behind on its updates. The Windows 10 machine was about a year and a half behind. The only thing that worked for me was to download using the Update Assistant. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 I also started having some success by just installing older updates manually from the windows update catalog. This could be tedious but seems to get the machine to a spot where the Update Assistant worked. I would advise starting with the Update Assistant first, but if it fails, start getting the machine more up-to-date from the update catalog until you can run the Update Assistant. I hope this helps someone.

Open the Settings window, and then select System from the left vertical menu and click on Troubleshoot from the right menu.

Click Other troubleshooters to expand all troubleshooters, and then click Run next to the Windows Update section.

If any fixes are identified, click on Apply this fix and follow the on-screen instructions.

    --------------------------------------

Type cmd in the search box on the taskbar, and then right-click the Command Prompt app and select Run as administrator.

Type sfc /scannow command in the elevated command prompt.

If the SFC scan doesn’t work, you can try running the command below in the elevated Command Prompt window.

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Open Control Panel > Programs and Features interface, click the Turn Windows features on or off link.

Check the .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0) box. Besides, expand this item and make sure the associated boxes for Windows Communication Foundation HTTP Activation and Windows Communication Foundation Non-HTTP Activation are also selected > click OK

    a) antivirus
    b) firewall
    c) drive encryption

    2) Run:
