How to change default browser for RES protocol

Question

How to change default browser for RES protocol for Win2016 server? Seems like it defaulted to IE...
given that IE is now end-of-life, how to update this to Edge?

Hi @Davis ,

As far as I know, url:RES is a special protocol supported by IE. And I tried searching for edge related documentation but I didn't find any supporting this protocol.

As mentioned in this similar question, it is by design and there is no solution to achieve this requirement. I even checked it in windows11 and it's still use Internet Explorer by default, although IE not work any more. Something like this:
