MTA / 98-361 and older fundamental exams

Question

Good day, now that most of the old 98 and 70 (98-361/ 70-480/70-483/70-486) - exams have retired at the end of June 2022, I want to know which developer fundamentals can now be used as an alternative? I know Azure is the way forward, but one should still learn and certify on the basics before attempting Azure Developer etc.

Please help. Thank you
