how to recover original bash settings

I have tried adjusting text and background colors in bash but have messed up the color scheme and can recover. How do I reset the WSL for a specific user back to the original state?
Also, there are multiple ways of adjusting text color. There's properties, defaults and .bashrc.
Which ones should be used ?
