Azure Hybrid Benefit on AVS

Hi All,

I understand the Azure Hybrid benefits are also applicable for Azure VMware Solution, however I was not able to find the licensing calculation for using Windows OS licences on AVS. As per documentation of AHB - "Each two-processor license or each set of 16-core licenses, either Datacenter or Standard editions, are entitled to two instances of up to 8 cores, or one instance of up to 16 cores. Datacenter edition licenses allow for simultaneous usage on-premises and in Azure. Standard edition licenses must be used either on-premises or in Azure—you’ll get 180 days of concurrent use rights while migrating servers."

I'm looking for how these licenses will apply on AVS as in VMware solution we would have hosts instead of VMs (similar to On-prem environment). Kindly share details for both OS - Datacenter edition & Standard edition and SQL Licenses with reference to AVS.

Thanks
Saurabh

    Hi,

I ran into a similar situation with a client a couple of months ago.
We struggled to find the answer and we finally decided to contact sales.
They were really kind, fast and efficient.

I strongly recommend that you save some time and contact them directly, I wish I would have done it sooner.

I'm more the type "show me how to fish and I'll do it myself" but with VMware + Microsoft, you require a PhD to understand it all.
