Hello! I posted a question last week asking if setting up folder-level permissions in a container was possible, and was told it is, with ADLS Gen 2. I have a few follow up questions. Hoping someone can help:

  • Can owners have access to individual folders in CDN?
  • Can email notifications be accomplished in Azure for folder level changes?
  • Can email notifications be accomplished in Azure for top level changes?
  • (If so,) How do we set up notifications of changes?
  • Admin Authorization of change: Can files be added/deleted/updated but Admin will be required to Commit change?

Thank you!

@Laurie Santiago Thank you for your patience while I was looking into this question.

I reached out to our internal team regarding these capabilities for ADLS Gen2 and they confirmed that at the moment these features are not available i.e., Email notifications are not possible, and it is also not possible for someone else to make changes and have the admin commit changes.

If you want to add these features to our feature request page, our PM team will look into it and consider it based on the votes for the feature. Please add the feature request here- https://feedback.azure.com/d365community/

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any further questions and we will be glad to assist you further. Thank you!
