We are using ASR to replicate our on-prem VNWare VMs to Azure for DR. We have an on-prem config server (just one) running all the roles (Master server, Process server, etc).
We have 11 VMs we are replicating, and this configuration has been running for about 6 months.
Starting earlier this week, we are seeing the config server "hang" - where the CPU usage across ALL cores goes to 100%. Replication stops, and all servers show as "Critical" in the ASR portal. We are unable to connect to the config server - due to the 100% CPU, so the only option is a reboot. After the reboot - CPU usage returns to normal and averages around 15-20%. This happens randomly - no pattern in day / time etc.
Anyone have any ideas where to start in troubleshooting this? We have already upgraded the config server and the agents to the latest version.

EBruce-6467 Sorry for the delay in response to your query.
CPU issues usually occurs if the churn rate increase. You may want to take a look at "capacity consideration" , see if that helps.

We are only replicating 11 VMs, the largest of which has 1 500GB hard drive. Based on that - I don't believe churn is the issue.
Any suggestions on where/how to start troubleshooting?
Check the agent configuration logs located under - %ProgramData%\ASRSetupLogs\ASRUnifiedAgentConfigurator.log. See if these logs help troubleshooting the issue.

@EBruce We haven't heard back from you. If this remains an issue, I recommend you contact Azure technical support team by raising a support ticket. The ticket enables you to work closely with the support engineers and get a quick resolution to your issue.

Make sure to exclude the ASR directories from the AV scan also.
