Does anyone know what will cause this update to stop at 72% and revert back. From what I can tell all of the updated needed for this is installed and purchased the Extended Security Update (ESU).

    Please run the system update readiness tool.

    Then post the results of;
    %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

    Might check the \windowsupdate.log file for clues.

    Hi rehbejoh,

    It seems that CheckSUR .log records no error. Based on my search, kb5015805 is a update related to IE. I suggest that we could perform a clean boot and disable security software temporarily.

    Then try to use command below to install.

    Wusa.exe d:\windows6.1-kb123456-x64.msu /quiet /norestart

    Clear Windows Update cache or reset windows update component to check.

    https://www.404techsupport.com/2013/01/18/how-to-delete-cached-windows-updates-in-windows-78/
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/windows-update-resources

    After that we could try to install again. If the issue still insists, I suggest that check Windows Update.log and CBS.log.

    C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS

    Best Regards,

    Carl
