Prevent Edge from using Windows Account

I have two Azure AD accounts. I log into Windows and Office with Account One, and I log into M365 Admin Center, Azure Admin Center, etc., with Account Two using Edge.

I never want Edge to use Account One, the account I use to log into Windows and Office. I have created a new profile and connected a different Microsoft account in that profile, but it still randomly reverts back to my Windows user account.

How can I permanently prevent Edge from ever using Account One to log into anything? I don't want to disconnect Account One from Office or anything else. Just Edge.

You say it reverts back to your Windows user account, do you mean the profile reverts back or the site you want to login reverts back? Does it login with the Windows user account automatically or it will ask you to choose one account to login? If possible, could you please provide a screenshot or recording of the issue?

Do you have an Edge profile using that Windows user account? If so, does it help to fix the issue if you remove that profile and use a new one?

I don't think that videos and screenshots would add anything. The problem is pretty straightforward.

Edge stays on the same profile. It does not revert to the old profile.

Edge reverts to automatically logging into Microsoft 365 and Azure using my Windows user account (Account One).

This "reversion" happens unexpectedly. It doesn't happen every time I open an Azure or M365 Admin Center in Edge. When it happens, I have to log out of Account One and log in with Account Two.

I want to stop Edge from ever using Account One to automatically log into anything without stopping other apps from using Account One. I want Edge to always use Account Two and only Account Two, no matter how many other credentials are stored on my computer. Is there a way to do that?

It's strange that it will still use the Windows account in a new profile and it happens randomly. If you add a new profile, it should be empty and shouldn't have the account information.

You can go to edge://settings/profiles/multiProfileSettings in your old and new profiles, make sure all the options are turned off. Besides, for the new profile you're using to login the sites, you can clear all browsing data here edge://settings/clearBrowserData then test again.

If it still doesn't work, I think you can only delete all the profiles and add a new one to test again.

I verified that both of the options at edge://settings/profiles/multiProfileSettings were turned off and that the Account Two profile was set as the default for all external links, cleared all browsing history, then I restarted Edge.

Edge still logged into the 365 Admin Center using Account One.

I turned "Automatically sign in to sites with your current work or school account?" back on and restarted Edge again. This time it logged in with Account Two. I'll leave it on this setting for a few days and see what happens.

Yes, leaving "Automatic profile switching" off and "Automatically sign in to sites with your current work or school account?" on seems to have done it. Thank you for your help!
