Hi All

Hoping you can help with the following error on Windows Server 2016. The VSS System Writer is missing for doing backups.

Event 513 CAPI2

Cryptographic Services failed while processing the OnIdentity() call in the System Writer Object.

Details:
AddCoreCsiFiles : BeginFileEnumeration() failed.

System Error:
The parameter is incorrect.

    Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having query related to Event 513 CAPI2.

    This event log entry has no impact on VSS backups and can be disregarded

    As per below Microsoft article this event log entry can be safely ignored. To prevent this entry from being logged, grant the required permission to the Microsoft Link-Layer Discovery Protocol driver (Mslldp.dll) to process System Writer.
