You can't use a transport rule for this.
This is the standard method to do this with Outlook:

How to create a "No Reply" email address in exchange server 2016

I have tried the options listed here https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/8e1ea321-b6d0-4c8e-a8a9-3b34f9e258b6/how-do-i-create-a-noreply-mail-account
I have created an account, assigned an alias and created a "Mail Flow Rule" but when I send a test to that email i do not get a bounce back or a reply from the server stating this is a "No-Reply" email as i stated in the mail flow rules..
I then tried to created a distribution group, added my self as a member, but when I try to access said group via owa i get a error stating I do not have permission to access the address.

2022-07-25T20:18:59.477+00:00 I have seen 5 different sites or more suggesting this as the way to do it..
site one
"There a several ways to do it. Here's an idea.Create a user or shared mailbox with two addresses, one primary address(something like ******@yourdomain.com) and one alias(something like ******@yourdomain.com).
Let people send their inquiries to the alias then the superintendent replies will come from the primary address.
Create a transport rule to reject any emails sent to the primary address."site2 "microsoft site)
Based on your description, I would suggest you create a distribution group with no member in it. Then set the distribution group’s email address you want and grant Send as permission to whom you want to be able to send from this no-reply address. A distribution group with no members won’t receive any reply. To create a distribution group, you can follow the steps below:
- In the EAC (Exchange Administration Center), navigate to recipients > groups.
- Click drop down button > distribution list.
- fill the required boxes.
and others..
I know I cant get it to work, but when you see pages including Microsoft suggesting this is the way to do it.. but now im being told I cant do it this way????

2022-07-25T20:28:49.777+00:00 Hi, If you want an auto-reply ( and really its an auto-responder) from a mailbox, then this cant be done at the server level. The answer to use a transport rule in that other thread is incorrect. Exchange can only reject a message with a NDR type response, but its not an auto-responder nor will a transport rule reply "stating this is a "No-Reply" ".
Only a rule using Outlook ( https://www.emailstopwatch.com/how-to-setup-an-autoresponder-in-microsoft-outlook) can do this unless you were to purchase 3rd party software perhaps that you installed in Exchange (If such a thing exists)
Using a group with no members will not generate an auto response neither. In that case, any message sent to the group simply disappears.
Hope this makes sense.
