Hi All,

Need some advice

I want to migrate local user profile for almost 500 users after domain join.

  1. Is it possible with standalone USMT without SCCM to perform it in bulk
  2. Incase if there is SCCM, Is it good approach via task sequence to migrate all users

Please suggest

Use USMTGUI from EhlerTech for that

Backup users locally and then, after Domain join, migrate the data to the Domain user.

EhlerTech use USMT but an updated version

    Hi @karthik palani

We could use USMT to migrate user profile, here is the related article:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/40251.how-to-migrate-windows-user-with-usmt.aspx

Besides, ADMT can help you migrate user profiles. If you are using ADMT 3.2, please read the following the guide first, especially the Managing Users, Groups, and User Profiles section.

Besides, some third-party software can also achieve goal, have a look

Move user profile to new domain profile on same computer

    Thanks for your timely input

We don't have SCCM but still i can use USMT i think. We have almost 500+ users, Is there a way to automate using any script for bulk number of users using like

    1. Run scan state for 100 users and save the profile in file share
    2. Join the machine to domain
    3. Run load state for all 100 machines

Please let me know if any insights
