Is it possible to set microsoft quarantine to Delete messages once expired instead of releasing them ?

In a situation where the messages in quarantine are end user managed and checked frequently is there a way to delete all messages that expire in quarantine rather than having them automatically release. I am aware I can run a script that would delete all the messages in quarantine , however assuming the script is ran on a Friday all emails arriving in quarantine on Friday will effectively have no chance to be viewed and renders this an inefficient way to handle emails.

Appreciate any help here

    Hi @Troy Barrak

According to the information provided by Microsoft, it indicates that: Quarantined messages are retained for a default period of time based on why they were quarantined. After the retention period expires, the messages are automatically deleted and are not recoverable.

How long quarantined messages are held in quarantine before they expire varies based on why the message was quarantined. The features that quarantine messages and their corresponding retention periods are described in the following table:

    Details:
Manage quarantined messages and files as an admin in EOP
Quarantined email messages in EOP and Defender for Office 365
