IdentityCache folder missing/never created

I've performed an install of Microsoft Teams for my organization's non-persistent VDI environment (VMware Horizon and Dynamic Environment Manager) by following the documentation at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-for-vdi.

That document indicates that the %localAppdata%\Microsoft\IdentityCache directory should be made persistent, that directory doesn't exist or is never created in the first place, forcing the end-users to sign in to Teams every time they start a new desktop session.

Fresh Windows 10 and Teams install. Has anyone else experienced this?

EDIT - I should also mention I've tested this in Teams version 1.4 and 1.5. Installing Teams as suggested in the documentation as well as a regular install and the IdentityCache folder isn't created/doesn't exist.
