I'm trying to use my free monthly credit on an Azure VM, but, no matter what location i select, i am unable to create any form of virtual machine. I get the below error
"The selected image is not valid for the specified location. Select a different location".
No matter what location i try, the same error appears.
Can someone please advise or assist?
I can see that the selected image is available in Central US region

HI there, thanks for the response. I get the same error when selecting that region. I'm in the UK, not US, so, thats probably why it works for you but not me. I've gone through all the UK based regions, all state the same.

Your organization might have configured policies to prevent you from creating certain images in specific regions. Can you check that?

Where abouts would i look for said policies? To my knowledge, we have never setup any. Might be wrong though

Just type in 'Policy' in the Azure Portal search bar and click on Policy service. In the left menu click on Assingments and see if there is any policy assigned for your VM scope.
I am able to select and create the Virtual machine from UK region also. There can be some transient issue in selecting the image at present from your location.
Meantime, you may try creating the VM by selecting from Azure market place (Image>See all Images)
Another option is to create the vm through azure cli to check if it works well
az group create --name win11 --location uksouth
az vm create --resource-group win11 --name win11 --image win11-21h2-pro --public-ip-sku Standard --admin-username azureuser
Cheers...no policies or policy assignments
Also, can you tell me what type of Subscription you are using for this?
