Hi, I swapped phones and lost the authenticator app for my azure account and there is no backup available. Now I need to get back access to my account. I still have my email and phone connected to my account and could verify my identity if necessary (id-card, payments etc.). What should I do now?

    Hi @Jacob ,

    You can fill out the Microsoft Account Recovery form to prove that you are the owner of the account. I know it's a somewhat arduous process, but these steps are taken as security measures, and you can recover the account that way. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/help-with-the-microsoft-account-recovery-form-b19c02d1-a782-dee6-93c3-dc8113b20c42

    If you have other recovery options set up and can access https://myapps.microsoft.com/ , you can re-add the authenticator (and other authentication methods) on that page.

    The last way works for me!
    I had to access a school email account, but lost my phone and microsoft authenticator along the way.

    Just some extra steps for other students out there;

    Access https://myapps.microsoft.com/ page through your laptop and if you can view your apps dashboard there; good for you!

    After accessing that, go to your profile on the top right hand side of your monitor.

    Click on View Account > Security Info >Add sign-in Method > then select Authenticator App

    Then download the app and follow the rest of the steps provide.

    Hope this works for you guys! Cheers

    Sadly, this website doesn't work for personal accounts. You need a business one or such...
