Excel Shared file control lost

I opened an Excel file from a Network shared folder with Read/Write permissions. Somewhere along the line I lost "Ownership" of the workbook while editing and when I try to save, Excel tells me the file is open by someone else. My Owner File "~$___.xlsm" disappeared and allowed someone else to also have this workbook open as Read/Write. How was someone else allowed to open my file?

Does this issue occur with other users who can open this shared file?
Besides, if you edit other shared Excel workbooks (.xlsx), whether this question will be repeated?

At that time, were there really other users who opened this shared file?
I suggest you check your network, avoid losing control of your files due to network issues.

Yes, other users have had this happen to them.
Yes, the original workbook is not the only one that we have seen this happen.
I am only a user of my network and have no control over it's behavior. How would I "avoid losing control of your files due to network issues"?

As it is not just a user who has this issue, and this issue does not only occur on specific files, it needs to be checked by admin.

I would suggest the admin create a new shared folder on the shared server, make sure that the user has the permissions to modify this folder, read, write, delete for a test.
