I have a odd issue I cant figure out. I am deploying Windows 10 operating systems with SCCM MDT integration and all works as expected but on one model laptop (HP 845 G7) the local administrator groups only show the groups as SIDs. I deploy to 5 different model Laptops and only on this model this happens. The SIDs are the groups I need added but im not sure why its doing this. I checked DNS , readded to domain same issue

Any help is apricated

    Hello,

There are 2 main causes for showing groups with SID:

    • For Built-in groups: Different language on OS vs the default language of the deployment: If the image has a different language than the deployment settings, will be a discrepancy between the Built-In groups (such as Users, Administrator, etc...), to resolve the discrepancy the system only shows the SIDs
    • For Domain groups, I'd check the domain controller and problem member both have the static ip address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS. In case this is correct, I will recommend to run the next commands, in order to determine the details about the configuration and domain health.

    -On each DC:
    Dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s:%computername% >c:\dcdiag.log
    repadmin /showrepl >C:\repl.txt
    ipconfig /all > C:\dc1.txt
    (DC2.txt DC3.txt... etc. if other DC's exist)

    -On the problematic machine:
    ipconfig /all > C:\problemmember.txt

    Hi,

The issue seems to be more related to Windows. From SCCM perspective, could you check the followings to narrow down the issue?

1,How about deleting the groups and re-adding them manually? Please share the error screenshot.

2,How do you add the groups, built in the image or using task sequence?

3,If possible, please use a new OS image to have a try.

Hope it helps. Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon

    Hi

Adding manually produces the same issue . Just the SIDs
The groups are added via GPO
Thats the thing it only happens on one model laptop . The other 4 i deploy this image to have no issues
The only difference is on this on it uses a USB-C dock fir network
