Dell Latitude 5501 WiFi broken after deployment

I have MDT setup to deploy multiple Dell laptop models and all work except the 5501. I've downloaded the latest (cab files) and wifi drivers and added them to MDT. After deployment the drivers are showing in device manager as correct and wifi sees wireless networks but will not connect to any. I've removed all drivers down to the Microsoft driver and still no joy. I've also manually installed drivers after deployment but wifi is still broken. I can do a Microsoft restore (brick image) and wifi works fine. I can also install Linux and wifi works fine, so it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue.

Make sure the chipset has been installed. The chipset allows the operating system to find and use devices integrated into the mother board.
