Network share access issue using MS Office

Hi all,
During last days, some employees complain me this issue that they have to wait some moments (in some case minutes)
before they can access to network shares using MS Office (they are running MS Office 365 updated).

Browse option (file explorer) when employee try to open a network share to load or save a file they get this message:

I tried to install all update available for Windows 10 Pro, however the issue persist.
Finally I tried to check AV and firewall rules, but the issue persist. (I turned off AV too).

If the user press "Cancel" button, he can access without issue to the files inside network share.

Do you have a suggestion for me?

I tried with different sofware (for example Notepad++) and I did not found the trouble.

Thanks a lot
Federico

    Hi @Federico Coppola ,
Did you open the files from network location directly?

I suggest you try to add the EnableShellDataCaching value to the Microsoft Windows registry. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Close your Office programs.
    2. Click Start, and then click Run.
    3. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
    4. Locate, and then click to select one of the following registry keys accordingly:
Microsoft 365 Apps, Office LTSC 2021, Office 2019 and Office 2016: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Open Find
    5. After you select the key that is specified in step 4, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
    6. Type EnableShellDataCaching, and then press ENTER.
    7. Right-click EnableShellDataCaching, and then click Modify.
    8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

Just checking in to see if the information was helpful. Please let us know if you would like further assistance.
