The home version has drastically reduced functionality. You can't even open meetings in the app; they open in your browser. I don't know why it exists.
Teams Desktop App: 'Teams for Home or Small Business' vs 'Teams for Work or School'
I'm doing a pilot rollout of MS teams in my org and looking to get a small group of users to install the desktop app themselves, As such, I will direct them here and ask them to select the option Teams for work or school as we have M365 licensing and AzureAD. That said, what is the difference in the app you get for these two download options?

If you have Work account (usually assigned by an IT admin as a part of an organization with a license to use Teams) or School account (as part of a school or educational institution), you need to install Teams for work or school. If you have an personal Teams account, you could install the Teams client for home and business. You could identify which version of Teams you're using from the icon. 2023-10-09T13:06:17.86+00:00 I've looked silly all year long by sending invites from my small business account, to guys that use the enterprise account. It's a mess, they can´t enter my meetings or need to go through the browser (they get very confused). Very bad experience here Microsoft

Teams for home or small business does not have the integrative capabilities that Teams for work or school does.
This means that Teams for work or school:
- Integrates with Azure Active Directory.
- Connects files shared in OneDrive/SharePoint between business users.
- Allows businesses to control what content is shared with external users.
