Relation Google node hour to Azure computing hour

Hey there,

I am writing my masters thesis at the moment. In my master thesis I compare the machine learning services of Google and Microsoft for image classification. This also includes the costs. Google uses node hours and Microsoft computing hours for the calculation. Is it possible to compare these units? This would be a crucial part of the comparison.

@Arndt Bils Azure Machine learning service does not have a surcharge for using the service, all charges are based on azure compute and other azure services used as per requirements of the experiments.
The compute charge is based on compute hours i.e the amount of time the VM or compute is running. If the compute is stopped you are not charged for compute but the storage/disks provisioned for the compute are still charged along with any LB rules setup with the compute. Any data saved on OS disk is persisted through stop and restarts.

If you looking at Azure's custom vision services, then the advanced training provides an option to set the training time for your project. In this case the compute hours or time duration set when training request is submitted is billed. There is no option to choose the compute type for training as this is managed at the backend by the service.

I am not too sure about google's pricing for these scenarios, but I hope the above response with respect to Azure billing is clarified.
