Excel : Images Disappearing/Distorted After Filtering and Deleting Non-Consecutive Rows

Hi all,

I believe this was an Excel bug back in May 2022 but was fixed and then now it is back. I created a simple dataset to demonstrate the issue.

Column A are images, and Column B are color names. All images have properties 'Move and size with cells' and also 'Locked' and all the image sizes are within the boundaries of the cell.

However, when I filter for 'Orange' and then try to delete those rows simultaneously (highlighting both rows and then Ctrl + -) and then unfilter, the remaining images get distorted/disappear.

We work with large datasets with hundreds of images so we need a solution that can be practical rather than deleting rows one by one.
Currently on Version 2207 Build 15427.20194

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    Hi @May Chum ,
I tested with the earlier version of Excel 365 (Current Channel: Version 2206 Build 15330.20264) and the filter works fine with images:

    229395-image.png

Then I tested the same version of Excel 365 (Current Channel: Version 2207 Build 15427.20194) and the image filter still works fine:

Did you create the new table with images in the version 2207?
    How did you fiter?
Could you provide more detail information about the problem, I'm glad to help you.

    Hi,

I just created a new table within Version 2207. I snip the pictures, and then copy and paste them into the Excel cells. I edited the properties for all images to be same as you have pictured above (Move and size with cells, locked). All the dimensions are within the cell boundaries.

I filter by having cell A1 selected (cell that says Image) then filter using keyboard shortcut Alt + D + F + F.
Then I go to the color filter and select 'Orange'.
Then I go to cell A3 and select the row using keyboard shortcut Shift + Spacebar.
I hold onto Shift and press down arrow to select both rows simultaneously.
I delete the rows using Ctrl + -.
    Then I unfilter using Alt + D + F + F.

    Hi @May Chum ,
I can reproduce your problem now in version 2207.
I also tested with TEXT, this problem seems only appear with pictures.

In my opinion, you can try to give a feedback about the problem to Microsoft:
