Create sharepoint site with different url

Hello,

we have a customer tenant where we are seeing sharepoint sites with different sharepoint urls.

We have no idea where it came from and how they managed to create such sites?
Do you have an idea how they did it?

In the screenshot below, we do see the problem I'm describing.
In the Sharepoint admin, sites are relatives, under /sites/ except 2:
https://tenantname-portal1.sharepoint.com and https://tenantname.sharepoint.com

We don't understand this one : https://tenantname-portal1.sharepoint.com
How was it created, what created it, how can we create/reproduce such site in our lab.

Hi @Emmanuel Dreux ,
Based on the screenshots you provided, those two sites may be root sites, which were automatically created when Microsoft 365 was set up. You can first check how this tenant was set up.
For root site, there is an article for your reference.

no, we still don't have any explanation how these sites could be created.
We are a software editor and this is the first time we are crossing such site.
We need to be able to recreate a similar environment in our lab in order to take this scenario into account.

This case is relatively complicated and I could not reproduce it, I also could not get some inspiration according to the issue.

So to help you better, I suggest you can create a new service request ,and more professional will help you.
(Microsoft 365 admin center ->> Support ->> New service request)
