Since I upgrade from Windows 7 to Win10 I cannot overwrite a file on a network drive. We have a process we download everyday and it creates a file with the same name as the day before. Before the upgrade it would write over the file from the prior day. This is what I want it to do. Since the upgrade I need to either delete the file prior to running the process, rename it or change the name prior to writing it.

How can I just overwrite like I have in the past. I have verified all of the rights. My user is a local Administrator and they have full rights to the file on the network share. We have many users doing this same process and I'm sure it will become an issue for others. Is this a Win10 security issue?

Today when we were testing it again. The end user noted the time was off. I had fixed the time before on the DC and it worked for a few days. They have three server. Today I checked each. The servers were different by a couple of minutes. I fixed all to be as close to the time as I could. It works. I believe the answer: "Check all servers have the correct time."

What’s the error message you are facing when modify files on network drive?
If you can access and have write permission on the network drive, you could overwrite a file here.
If you are using a program/app to achieve this process, you need to make sure the program is compatible with Windows 10, at the same time, the program run as highest privilege.

Besides, enable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support in Windows Feature to check result.

We noticed a nightly restart is also necessary. Don't understand this but it is working and not a bad habit to restart once a day.
