MS Teams is connecting to some strange endpoints/IP addresses

MS Teams is displaying some very strange behaviour - there are some very suspicious endpoints connecting to it. The security teams believe it's not a malicious endpoint but I believe MS Teams should only be connecting to a Microsoft endpoint, not even a Microsoft "hosted" endpoint, and definitely not to one in Akamai.

Below is a screen shot of the endpoint:

Can anyone please verify if MS Teams should be connecting to this endpoing?

    Hi @Lita Teng

It looks like Microsoft and Akamai have a long relationship (dating back to 1999). Most likely that akamaitechnologies.com is a content delivery network backbone for Microsoft Teams.

The companies also announced that Microsoft made an approximately $15 million investment in Akamai. The goal of this strategic relationship is to help further the rapid growth of the digital media market.

This means that what you are seeing is completely normal.
