Beta Graph eDiscovery API - Export Operation getDownloadUrl

Hey,

I'm running into some issues with the beta Graph eDiscovery API getDownloadURL (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/security-ediscoveryexportoperation-getdownloadurl?view=graph-rest-beta&tabs=http) endpoint.

Whenever I make a GET request with a completed Export operation, I get the following error:

I did not provide any Azure storage information when creating the Export and the Export operation is in the 'succeeded' state. I created the Search, Review Set and Export using the Graph eDiscovery API and the account does have the eDiscovery Manager role.

When I view the Exports in Purview, they all link to Azure blob for access (I'm guessing the internal store). If I run the same Export directly from Purview, everything works as expected and I can download it straight from the browser. Any ideas?

To better assist on this query could you please elaborate on this statement - *When I view the Exports in Purview, they all link to Azure blob for access (I'm guessing the internal store). If I run the same Export directly from Purview, everything works as expected and I can download it straight from the browser. Any ideas?*

Also do you see the issue with Microsoft purview or making a request to the API?

*Whenever I make a GET request with a completed Export operation, I get the following error:* - How are you doing the GET request what is the client you are using to make this request?

A few additional details would help us understand the problem better.

Hey, thanks for the response. Here's some more information:

I tried making the request with Postman and Jersey in Java, both encountered the same error response:

When I create an export with the API, I provide the following (I have also tried with other options and structures):

The export gets created and processed, but I can't get the /getDownloadUrl endpoint to work.

When I open up the Export in Purview, it shows a link to an Azure blob (Progress is always stuck on Loading...):

Which is a different result compared to when I create the Export manually with Purview (with the online application in the compliance portal):

I don't know if that's expected but felt like it's worth a mention. The documentation for the /getDownloadUrl endpoint mentions that if an Azure blob url isn't provided, the export will use an internal store, so I'm assuming that link to the Azure blob is the internal store. Otherwise, I'm not sure.

I've tried making the /getDownloadUrl request for the export I created manually in Purview and got the same error response. I tried with other HTTP methods and it still didn't work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Any updates? I'm mainly wondering if this is something I'm doing wrong or if it's because the API is still in progress. Which is completely understandable.

@Anne Costello I didn't end up submitting a support ticket but instead changed to use a workaround for now.

We provide our own Azure storage container for the Export and then download it from that container with AzCopy. The storage account details you provide when creating an Export is enough to be able to download it with AzCopy, so that works for us. All though, you do need to filter for the export or use an empty container for each export.
