Hello,

I wanted to publish a new app for android on our Intune / MEM today. I instantly received an error. After investigation I noticed our google account has been deleted by Google.
Can I just create a new one, link it in our Intune portal?
What will happen with the apps which are already published? (IE Outlook)

Do I need to reenroll Android devices?
thanks

@Jan De Smet Based on my understanding, android enterprise enrollment is needed to connect your Intune tenant to Managed Google Play. When you disconnect the deleted google play account, it will occur a message "Please unenroll all Android devices with a work profile."

To avoid any strange issue occurring, it is suggested to retire android devices, link the new google account and re-enroll the devices.

Hi Xenia, sorry for my late reaction. What will happen with the user's data? Will the user's data be saved? Or deleted? If users did save any data in their container. Many thanks. rgds

Hi JanDeSmet-2708 when you retire a device the work profile is removed from the device - for COPE devices the entire device will be wiped. If the devices were not retired prior to disconnecting and replacing the managed Play account, which may be the case if Google deleted the gmail account for managed Play, then they may end up orphaned and need to be manually wiped/retired from the glass. Whether locally stored data can be salvaged or recovered would be entirely dependent on what controls existed prior to retirement.
You will need to reimport all apps again on the new account you create and bind to MEM.
