Hello,

I might sound like a noob but I have query.

I have my Microsoft authenticator (on my android phone) set up with my OUTLOOK email account as the back up account. If I lose my phone and I decide to get another android phone will I be able to RESTORE my Authenticator with all the other accounts I had set up on my previous phone? I want to be able to recover all the TOTP's for the other apps that I had set up on my previous phone. for eg. I have set up the TOTP function for my login to a banking service(they have a 2FA enabled for my online banking). Will I be able to recover that using my backup outlook email account login on the new phone? Please tell me if you have done this before successfully.

My outlook account does not show my device as logged in to my phone when I can see my outlook account as the back up option.

Thanks for taking your time out to answer my question!

    Hi @anuj sanghvi

The best way to do this is to Turn on cloud backup for Android devices. I would recommend backing it up and restoring it on your new device before deleting the authenticator app on your old device to ensure everything was migrated.

Back up and recover account credentials in the Authenticator app
