144hz only rendering top of screen

I have a ASUS laptop with an Nvidia graphics card. For about two years I've run this laptop at 144hz, however recently, it started to flicker until the screen went black. I restarted my laptop and put it onto 60hz. when I tried to put it back onto 144hz it seems to only render the top of the screen, with the bottom of the screen completely black. I have tried to reinstall the latest graphics drivers, as well as restart the laptop in safe mode, however when I tried to turn on safe mode it restarted my computer in 144hz, with no way to see the screen. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Screen flickering in Windows is usually caused by display drivers. I shall suggest you to uninstall the graphic card driver in Safe mode. Reboot. The OS will detect the driver automatically.

    Power on your computer.
As soon as the manufacturer's logo appears, press and hold the power button until your PC shuts off.
Again, press the power button and repeat step two.
After 2-3 attempts, your computer will boot into the blue screen with various options.
Here, click on Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
Choose the user account, enter the password, and click on Continue to begin Startup Repair.
After Startup Repair completes its job, reboot your computer and try booting into Safe Mode again.
