Hi,

The SCCM backup has been failing with the "there is not enough space on the disk", whereas there is ample space on the disk. The event viewer seems to be pointing towards error towards the shadow storage VSS.

the access permissions were cross verified and there has been no change. This has been working fine 2-3 days back and suddenly started dropping the below errors:-

smsbkup.log

Error: SQL Backup failed for component CM_ABC
ERROR: Failed to backup SQL component CM_ABC. Error = ERROR: CopyFile to \BackupServerlocation\SiteDBServer failed: [error code: 112, error message: There is not enough space on the disk.]
Error: Backup Failed for Component - \SiteDBServer\SMSbkSQLSiteDB.dat.
ERROR: SQL Backup task failed. Error message - ERROR: CopyFile to \BackupServerlocation\SiteDBServer failed: [error code: 112, error message: There is not enough space on the disk.]
Error: SQL Backup failed...

Eventviewer

Site Backup failed while trying to copy the files to the destination. Backup operation is not completed. Possible Cause: The Volume Shadow Copy Service may not have sufficient disk space to create the shadow copy of the site backup snapshot information. Check the storage associations for the drives containing Configuration Manager data and ensure that they are configured to use a volume with free space equivalent to at least 50% of the size of the Configuration Manager data. The backup destination should not be on the source volume, and the storage association should refer to a different volume than the source volume.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi @Vikram Midha ,

Since the error reports ‘there is not enough space on the disk’, we could delete some files which located in backup path and then backup again to check if the error is solved.

If the error exists, it may not be related to the space disk.
