I bought a new HP laptop in March with Windows 11. Today I received an Win 11 update. Upon restart of the computer, it is asking for a Bitlocker code. I did not install or use Bitlocker on this machine. I logged into my Microsoft account and tried using the recover key listed. But it doesn't work.
How do I get my new computer restarted. Currently it is bricked.

Go for a Factory Reset to fix the issue.
I have a brand new Dell. Which has been bricked by the latest Bitlocker Windows update.
this PC was direct from Dell, I set it up, no information at that time about bitlocker, no 3rd party involved, my Microsoft account says no key recorded..
I called Microsoft, a euphemism, as one can only "chat", they want £95 to fix their problem!!!
I tried changing the BIOS, not sure what you mean by clear "all boot keys"
On the Dell BIOS, we have
Secure boot Database - installed and locked
Secure boot status - disabled
Secure Boot mode - deployed Mode
User customized security - NO
than below that
Secure boot - disabled
Select Secure boot - deployed mode
then below that
Expert Key management
clicking on the latter we have
PK
KEK
db
dbx
then below that
delete all keys - disabled
reset all keys - disabled
Can anyone advise or help please?
Further to the above, as its a new laptop backed up on Onedrive, we did, with Dell help , did a factory reset.
The point I'm making is that even after a total reset and re-install, Microsoft didn't ask and hasn't recorded any bitlocker codes. So in fact is this is a total cick-up by Microsoft,, Surprised there isn't more on the net about it - BeepingComputer was quite helpful.
