SharePoint Online Calendar overlay issue. Web URL does not resolves.

I have migrated a SharePoint 2016 site over to a SharePoint online Modern Collaboration site collection. The Calendar with overlays in SP2016 did not work on SPO site collection and throws an error "Sorry Something went wrong". When I create a new calendar it's working fine. When I try to resolve the Web URL (to the same site collection) on this new calendar it display an error "Cannot complete this action Try again later". there is no correlation ID with this message.
What I have done:

  1. Migrate just the calendar over to another SPO test site collection, and the Calendar works fine and overlays worked, and I was able to resolve web url.
  2. Created a new Modern collaboration site collection and migrated the Calendar alone and set up overlays. Then I performed an incremental migration to move all other content. The Calendar stopped working and throwing "Something went wrong" error. I can create a new calendar on this site, but the Web url (to the same site collection) is not resolved. Says "Cannot complete this action, Try again later".

Any solution, comments or an advice would be appreciated. Thanks. DKS.

    Hi YanLiJiang,

I am sorry for the delay in replying you. Since there is no way for us to check ULS in SharePoint Online we will not be able to do that. The error I get is " Cannot complete this action, Please try again".
I have tried many times and it keeps popping up the same error and it does not resolve. Like I have said it does resolve on other site collections. And also when I migrate just the calendar to a new site collection it resolves the web url with no issues. Then I perform an incremental migration for other contents, the Calendar loses the overlays and does not resolve the web url. If there is a dependency with another list or a library causing this issue, is there a way to find that out?

    Thanks,
    Dammika.

    Hi @Dammika Kahanda ,
According to your description, I think the cause may be related to the way you migration. Can you provide some more details about "I perform an incremental migration for other contents"?
And how you set up the calendar before migration? You can go to SharePoint 2016 to check the ULS log to see if there is a dependency with another list or a library.
And, it is recommended that you provide some screenshots of the issue so that we can better resolve the issue.
Thanks for your understanding and support!

    Thanks,
    Yanli Jiang
