Yellow border on all monitors

Sometimes after I use Snip&Sketch the yellow border stays long after the program has been closed.
Is there a way to fix this or disable the border all together?

Probably related to this annoying feature : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/11644/how-can-i-remove-yellow-border-line-when-screen-ca.html
Why do I need this feature in the first place? It does not show up when using obs or sharing screen in zoom or discord yet in Microsoft's own app it shows up and stays on top.

    the following fixed it for me:

    go to Snipping Tool's settings. The bottom window in the image below should open. Then un-check the "show screen overlay when snipping tool is active". I think that should do the trick!

    I checked a dozen responses to this error...with nothing helping. Until I came across a response that was seemingly impossible to be linked to this error. It really was. Make sure your user profile is not hidden.

    1. Open your documents folder;
    2. Select your C: Drive; and
    3. Users.

    If your profile isn't there, this might be the fix for you.

    In the "View", make sure you're seeing your hidden files/folders. Then, if your profile shows up, right click on it, properties and unhide it. Below is just something I grabbed online, but it's an easy path to follow. I hope this helps.

    Double check to make sure that in Ease of Access - Narrator is off.

    Otherwise, do you know the steps that produced the yellow boarder?

    Not an answer but a comment. My Snip & Sketch went to 'yellow border' mode after a Windows update about a year ago. Tried all the resolutions I could find to no avail. A recent lightning strike forced me to buy new tech: a Surface directly from Microsoft with Win10 Home pre-installed. A setback but at least, I thought, Snip & Sketch will work; not so much ... still yellow border out-of-the-box (though I did apply updates first thing ... my bad?). So there is something deep or subtly wrong with this app or its deployment. Please do not remove the Snipping Tool.
