hello,
using the azure data studio, I am unable to connect to the serverless sql endpoint.
in data studio, I try to connect using the admin login details. when going through the connection process, when I click on the databases drop down, the message I receive is:
The server you specified synapseworkspaceName.sql.azuresynapse.net does not exist in any subscription in xxx. Either you have signed in with an incorrect account or your server was removed from subscription(s) in this account. Please check your account and try again.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure that the issue related to "azure data studio" ?!?

Have you succeed to connect using SSMS for example? There us nothing special about azure data studio.

Anyhow... Please go over this step-by-step tutorial and try to follow the instructions to connect the database

You can also try to use SSMS but remember that SSMS is not fully support serverless SQL pool

when I try to login, there is a create new firewall rule window:
1- add my client ip xxx
2- add my subnet ip range from xxx to xsc

no matter which of the two I select and then ok, still gives that error message

Hi,

Configure the firewall manually directly in the Azure portal instead of using the Azure Data Studio for this task.

Open the portal and navigate to your virtual server or the database and configure the firewall to open port 1433

In th enetworking section of synapse, I have put a tick next to allow azure synape link for azure sql datavase to bypass firewall rule.
and added my ip address to the list.
I am still unable to connect to serverless sql pool via data studio

hello,
I can see the ip is already there but I still get the same window (create new firewall rule) when trying to connect in data studio to the serverless end point
