Sharepoint-based Microsoft Lists throws "Error: Failed to execute query step, ResultCode: 262" when I try to add a new item. What does this mean? How do we fix it?

Somehow the Error 262 has resolved itself :)

However, I have have another less urgent but equally confounding issue where I can't delete columns using Microsoft Lists UI. However, when I look at SharePoint lists settings they appear deleted, they are not there.

We are using "SharePoint in Microsoft 365. Formerly known as "SharePoint Online," this is the subscription version of SharePoint that comes with Microsoft 365."

The column deletion error says "[Column name] wasn't deleted. There was an issue deleting the column "[Column name]". Please try again." This issue has persisted for several days.

Hello again, I tried to just "hide" the columns within the default view, and it errored "View could not be saved. Failed to execute query step, ResultCode: 262"

    Hi @Foran, Eliza ,
According to your description, you can't in the Microsoft Lists UI, but when you go to the list settings, it is no longer there.
And when you go to SharePoint Online to delete it, the error says "[Column name] wasn't deleted. There was an issue deleting the column "[Column name]". Please try again." Am I right?
If so, I need to confirm some information with you so that I can test it in my environment.

    1. Is it only happen to this list or all?
    2. What type of column is this?
    3. Please provide some screenshots of key steps and errors.

    Thanks,
    Yanli Jiang
