RDS Gateway for Physcial Desktops. Now want to add RDS Farm

Hi,
We setup a RDG single for a customer so users could work at home and connect to their on prem desktop. has been working fine for 2y now.
Now the customer wants to use remoteapps to publisch some old LOB app that does not work great over VPN.
I had some thoughts that deployinga new farm would fight with the existing gateway and break the users from accessing their desktop and force incoming gateway connections to the broker.
does anyone have experience in this?
would incorporating the Remote Web access in the farm setup still allow users to select "connect to my computer"?
