New Remote Desktop Connection at 2012 RDS Farm doesn't work

Hello,

I have a farm in Production with one RD connection and a few Remote Apps. They all work fine.

Recently I added a new RD connection "Carelink Sandbox", assigned a Security Group and the host server. When logging in msts client comes up but it is asking for hostname where to log in instead of getting directly to the specified Host server INGT-M1-UAT-1.

While testing I created one more Remote Desktop connection "test 2", added permissions for Domain Users and added Host server that used to be in Production (e.g. 100% working one) - still the same issue - it keeps asking where to log in and doesn't get me to the Host server. If I manually type the host server or lets me to log in but that is obviously not what I need.

Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi,
Thanks for posting and some questions to understand your issue better:
1.How did you add new RD connection(or maybe collection)? Please note 1 RDSH could only be added into collection once.
2.Did you try to save the .rdp file when clicking the icon on RD web page? Open with notepad and comparing with the working version after filling in target sever manually.
3.Is there any errors when you added new RD connection and publish onto RD web page?

Looking forward to you update and appreciate the detail steps for us to test.

    Best Regards,
    Jenny

    Hello Jenny,

Thank you for following up on it.

    1. I added a new Collection (the Resource Type: RD) "Carelink Sandbox. I built a new server INGT-M1-UAT-1, added it to the Server Manager pool, in "Collection" - Tasks - Create a Session Collection - added a name "Carelink Sandbox", added RD Session Host "INGT-M1-UAT-1", added permissions to an AD group and clicked to Create it.
      1. Yes I compared them. The working one is of much bigger size (8,628 bytes vs 456 bytes), the largest part is signature.
      2. There are no errors when I added new RD connection and publish onto RD web page.
      3. I have also added another Collection "test 2" (the Resource Type: RD), no errors, but the same issue.
