Disabling AllowAdHocSubscriptions

If I disable AllowAdHocSubscriptions on my tenant, what will happen to licenses of of users that added adhoc susbscriptions? Do those direct licenses get removed or are they unchanged and are new subscriptions are disabled?

    They will be kept unchanged and can still be used. Toggling the setting only affects new subscriptions.
