Is there a way to install Office on my Chromebook?

You can use the following document from highland.edu to install Office products (from the Google Play Store). These are only the mobile versions, so they will be basic versions of the products:

As above description, if you are using the Google Chrome OS for your Chromebook. You need to use the Android version of Office which download from Google Play.

You could install Office application using your browser (standalone Progressive Web App (PWA))

The following guide shows how to install Outlook from the browser:

You could replicate the same steps for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other apps that you could load on portal.office.com

This should be done through Google Play Store; however the app is in Mobile Android version.

There is no official Microsoft Office installer for Chromebook, but there are several ways you can still work with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint files on Chromebook. This Office tutorial outlined all the possible methods.
