Using Visual Studio 2022 with GitLab & "Pull Request"

Hi. We will be using Visual Studio 2022 with GitLab. I believe i have seen on many web pages and YouTube videos that this combination can have a "Pull Request" option, but I don't see the option/button, either on the Git Menu or Team Explorer with my installation. How can i get this option? Thanks.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. Could you share some or maybe any of the guidance(videos/docs) with me to check the "Pull Request" option? In VS 2019, you may need to install and use some extensions for supporting GitLab, but in VS 2022, I’m not sure whether these extensions are still available. Please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for your reply.
The more i look, the more i realize that it is probable a VS2022 + GitHub combination, that is why the say "Pull Request".
It would probably say "Merge Request" for a VS2022 + GitLab combination.
Does this mean that the "Merge Request" for a VS2022 + GitLab does not exist?
Is there no way to get this? Any extensions that would work?

Actually, the default provided connections in VS are for GitHub and Azure DevOps. I noticed a similar report here(related to Pull Request feature in VS 2022): Full integration of Pull Requests in VS2022 and is currently still under review. If you want to use GitHub, you can continue follow up that thread for more information.

Besides, for GitLab, I see this extension: GitLab Extension for Visual Studio, but it only works with VS 2015, 2017 and 2019, not VS 2022. You can try to search for other related extensions here: VS Marketplace.

I think the GitLab Extension doesn't work with Visual Studio 2022.
