Does Utilize Azure File Sync for Fileshare Reduce Azure Cost?

Hi,

I was interested in migrating my local file shares to the cloud. I was considering whether or not we want to cache a copy locally.

Will have a cached copy locally reduce overall Azure cost?

You will not save in cost directly and depending on your workload it could cost more. The total cost of Azure File Sync services is determined by the number of servers that connect to the cloud endpoint (Azure file share) plus the underlying costs of Azure Files (including storage and access costs) and outbound data transfer. See the Azure Files Pricing page for more information.

Azure Subscription and Billing support is free and you can always create a case if you have specific billing questions.
