Hello, I'm trying to setup a Windows Deployment Server 2019 at my place of business for my IT Techs to image workstations. The server is physical and has a freshly installed Windows 2019 datacenter and is updated with the latest Microsoft updates. The WDS server is in a 2016 domain functional level and 2012 R2 forest functional level environment.
My issue is when I do a PXE boot the windows PE does see the disk drive.
Let me backup a couple of steps here. I did successfully do a capture image from a Dell Latitude 7480 laptop (did a sysprep prior to capturing the image). I was also able to successfully reimage the same Dell Latitude 7480 laptop with that image. So I know the image works.
When I try to use that same image to reimage a Dell Latitude 5520, I run into the error message stating, "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load driver". I did inject the image with all the Dell Latitude 5520 storage drivers (.inf files).
I'm new to the WDS world. What am I missing here? Is there a setting in the BIOS that needs to be changed? Can you use an image from one laptop and us it on another model laptop?
