Azure Managed Database Backup Reporting

We've setup a Managed database in a SQL Managed Instance and we need to report on the backup status. I appreciate that backups are a mixture of full, incremental and transaction logs, but we need some form of reporting to indicate when a backups are run.

I've looked into using Log Analytics but can't see how to include a Managed Database backup.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Kevin

Hi @Kevin I - Please review the Azure SQL Analytics (Preview) feature that is part of Azure Monitor. This functionality gives you the best option for establishing alerts and building reports/views into your Managed Instance database. There are specific support options pertaining to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.

By creating a notification based upon using a combination of: Resource by type, Insights, and/or Errors, you can build a reporting mechanism on the backup tasks.
