Missing option to delete file from a Team in Teams

An owner of a Team in MS Teams does not have the option to delete a file or folder in the files section of the General channel.
Opening the files in SharePoint produces the same issue. In the context menu, there is just no option to delete as you would expect per the below link...
Ideas here?

2022-09-01T22:59:46.313+00:00 I have not checked the web client, they do have the same issue on the web version of SharePoint though. I am unsure what you mean by the second comment sorry.
