Hi all,

I am unable to install Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server.

It requires (from log):

Product: Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server -- Setup is missing an installation prerequisite:
-Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server. To continue, install Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server and
then run the Setup operation again

Can anyone help me with this.

    The error message is correct.
    The Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server have as a prerequisite installation of the ODBC driver.

    It is explicitly documented in the official documentation: System Requirements

    System Requirements
    Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022

    This component requires both Windows Installer 4.5 and Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server.

    Like the error log said, you need to download the ODBC Driver17 for SQL Server, and you can download it from heredownload-odbc-driver-for-sql-server

    Hi all,

    Thanks for reply. From the log above you can see that I have installed Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server. Version is 17.0.1.1.

    Hi, yeah I still can`t install Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server even if I installed Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server successfully.

    Installation of Microsoft Command Line Utilities 15 for SQL Server can`t be finished because it requires Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server.

    Hi, I didn`t resolve problem. I am unable to delete registy that you suggest.

    As regards to version I already tried to install all versions of odbc from 11 to 18 and I unable to install any of command line utilities ( versions 13, 14, 15).
