Is there any way to keep Azure Backups on prem for some time with Azure MABS tool?

I am planning to backup on-prem 50 Virtual Machines and 10 physical servers to the Azure Backup with MABS. I have 100TB storage. I need to keep first 30day backup in my on-prem NAS or SAN and rest must be uploaded to the Azure.

Not following well the question.

Wile creating a protection group you can set 30 days retention for disk backup. Retention can be always changed either disk or online.

What I understand is, Is it possible to set retention of back ups to disk without performing online backup for a certain duration.

The answer is NO!

Unless you don't select backup to online, you can do disk backup or disk and online backup. Only by selecting or not from protection group wizard, there is sadly no "pause".

MABS by design needs to be backed up first to local storage
