I'd like to add a timer to our meetings on Teams so people respect the timebox defined. Is that possible? Or maybe, are there any apps existing to embed to the invite?

It's a little clunky and hard to set up, but if you need something in the meantime, several "virtual camera" applications can overlay a timer onto your video feed. Search for "obs timer" for one example of doing with OBS, a popular virtual camera app that's free.
