protect JSON-file /ARM template Azure Data Factory

Hi,

I have developed an ETL procedure for a specific ERP system in Azure Data Factory. I want to sell the entire procedure to customers so that they can use the ARM template in their own Azure tenant.

However, I do not want them to make a copy of the ARM template or generate a new ARM template which they can sell to competitors. The entire ETL procedure is the intellectual property of my business. Can I protect the customers files from being copied? Or maybe be made classified so that they can only be used in their own tenant?

Short answer, you can't.

Bit longer answer:
Even if you do not deliver the ARM template and deploy it out of your repository,
they'll still be able to extract templates if they have access to the ADF/resource.

Azure Data Factory is fully integrated into ARM, so everyone with access to the Azure resource can extract the template either over the portal or over the ARM APIs
